honestly still figuring out king's exact motives for training child soldiers since that will impact his relationship with them

[center][fancypost=bgcolor= transparent; bordercolor= transparent; height:; width: 420px; font=; text-align: justify;]Dom had taken his boys far, but like a well regimented group, they had covered the distance quickly. RiverClan approached. It was not the caracal's first choice in groups, but it worked for what he wanted to accomplish, and they would blend in well there. Blending was important: Kingdomcome didn't want his boys corrupted by animals who would try to tempt them from him or the tasks he set them.

While they were still some distance from the border, the rusty wildcat stopped and turned to regard the young cats behind him. "We're approaching RiverClan. When we arrive, I expect you all to remain silent unless I tell you otherwise." He was not harsh: he had allowed them to talk during the trip, but now they would be interacting with outsiders, and Dom didn't want them engaging in conversation without his consent. "Understood?"

Smartly turning, he led the group the rest of the way to the border, calculating gaze already searching for signs of RiverClanners.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor= transparent; bordercolor= transparent; height:; width: 420px; font=; text-align: justify;]His children, of course, listened and remained silent when the strangers addressed them. Kingdomcome was proud, although it was really all he expected. They were meant to be good little soldiers, obedient and quick to listen.

The first to approach was a darkly colored canine, a bright grin spread over his maw. Dom offered him a faint smile in return, but rather than answer Ramses, he shifted his gaze to the rabbit. Until Teagan spoke, he would have thought her the perfect sort of prey to set his boys—and Risen—on. "We wanted to see your group."

Ramses started to seem slightly suspicious that no one had answered him, although it had barely been a minute. For a moment, anger lit the caracal's eyes, but he bit it down and smoothly explained, "We're not used to being around others. I'm Kingdomcome." Glancing over at the youths around him, he added, "Introduce yourselves." To the RiverClanners, it might seem as though he was giving them a suggestion to ease them, but Dom didn't deal in suggestions. It was as much of a command as his earlier one to be silent had been.

His steely gaze flickered over the next three to arrive, a pale cat, crocodile-tailed wolf, and a dark feline.. "I've heard a little about your group. Could we stay here for a while?"

mhm, yeah, and if any riverclanner spooks him, they'll have to face four spying soldiers
or maybe just heavenly since that's his job

anyway, you all up for a group private thread to explore their bond? or maybe one-on-one training with dom?

[center][fancypost=bgcolor= transparent; bordercolor= transparent; height:; width: 420px; font=; text-align: justify;]That seemed to have fulfilled the RiverClanners' expectations. Dom remained calm as Ivylee bounced over, hiding his calculating expression behind the smallest of smiles. He didn't trust the leader's enthusiasm; it seemed to Kingdomcome that Ivy's cheeriness was just a guise to hide something, and he resolved to keep an eye on her, and have his boys do the same.

As Rosewater and Titan introduced themselves, Dom scrutinized them and offered each a faint, charming smile. Better to be friendly; he might have accused Ivy of wearing a mask, but they were important to wear. It was best to hide your true intentions, to keep your cards against your chest. "Perhaps you could show us around," he suggested.

Glancing down at the kids, the male wondered, "Do you all want individual tours? I'm sure you've seen enough of each other while we traveled." The joke was accompanied by a smile, but one with an edge, to remind his soldiers that it was not truly an offer, and anyone who didn't agree would be reprimanded later. Telepathically (which was not a way Dom spoke often, as he was afraid someone would pick up on it without him realizing), he added, "Gather as much information as you can during the tour." For Hev, that would mean examining everything, while Flowerypaw was more likely to bombard his guide with questions.

i'm also in the blizzard zone! very glad classes were cancelled tomorrow because i have a paper to finish

dittoing pure and scene 'bout risen
dom's using the term pretty gender neutral but i can stop if you like?

chara bond would def be cool, i'm good with one

[center][fancypost=bgcolor= transparent; bordercolor= transparent; height:; width: 420px; font=; text-align: justify;]His boys were doing well—all except Judge, who accepted the doctor's offer. Kingdomcome glanced down sharply at the mountain lion cub but remained silent, keeping his mouth from twisting into a cruel line with the ease of hard practice. The cub was trying, but a soldier did not just follow orders. A soldier thought as well, and if Judgementpaw had thought, he surely would have realized that Dom would have preferred that Flowerypaw went with Hope. He'd been training Flowerypaw in the arts of healing and poison, but there was doubtless more that the feline would have been able to pick up from Hope. Thanks to Judge, that would have to wait.

Dom was an actor, though, and although anger at the mistake simmered within him, he held it back—besides, like his boys, the male was a soldier, and a soldier kept a tight check on his emotions. Instead, he nodded at the two who already and guides. "I'll see you later. We'll regroup at the base—I assume you have one?" This last bit was directed toward the RiverClanners, although Dom didn't imagine that they didn't have a home base. Perhaps they called it something else here, like camp, but it was all the same thing.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor= transparent; bordercolor= transparent; height:; width: 420px; font=; text-align: justify;]They'd come a long way, and after joining, Kingdomcome's four soldiers had been subjected to tours. It was a lot, especially for children so young, but that was their life. Dom could have pushed them more, but, for the most part, they'd done well, and once they'd regrouped, he'd rewarded them with some downtime—after the promise that they would speak later, once everyone had recovered.

It was later now. Dom had taken his little group away from the camp and the prying eyes of their new clanmates. He was still not sure if they'd be staying in the same system of caverns as everyone else. Staying meant more of a chance to learn about RiverClan and made them blend in better, but it meant that someone might discover what he was teaching the children or get between him and them. That couldn't be tolerated.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor= transparent; bordercolor= transparent; height:; width: 420px; font=; text-align: justify;]Ghoulian. Kingdomcome wasn't yet sure how loyal he intended to be to RiverClan, but right now, this place was his base. He'd set Hev to keep an eye out for the canine, and if he threatened Dom's chosen base to much, the soldier would have his boys deal with the stranger. What was the use of soldiers if they didn't do their work?

The rest of the doctor's announcements seemed aimed toward specific members. All the same, he paid attention, just in case it turned out to be useful.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor= transparent; bordercolor= transparent; height:; width: 420px; font=; text-align: justify;]The child—Titan, his mind supplied—was in a fit of rage, but even angry—or perhaps because of it—he had good control over his telekinesis. Dom did not admire that, per se, but the display of power pleased him, although it did not come from one of his boys. He was training Risenpaw in such arts, and he would have liked to think that his protegee was stronger. As it was, he hadn't witnessed Titan using his powers enough to know.

Heavenlypaw, the caracal was pleased to note, had already arrived at the scene and was innocently questioning Titan. Of course, the boy's sarcasm might get in the way of him gathering any information: sweet eyes and an innocent demeanor didn't count for everything. Curious concern might be more effective, but time would tell if his current attempt worked well.

For now, he remained hidden: Dom wanted to see how his son did without knowing that he was there.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor= transparent; bordercolor= transparent; height:; width: 420px; font=; text-align: justify;]The members of his squad sat quietly, eyes trained on him, but although there was little difference to their movements, they didn't seem like one entity. As Dom had heard years before, before these four souls had even been conceived, there was nothing like a uniform for expressing one's individuality. They were being trained in different arts, but they would behave as a single unit: he would see to it.

The silence was cold, empty, and Dom broke it harshly. "Judgementpaw." His gaze found the boy's, locking onto him. From the way he shifted around, it was clear that he knew he'd made a mistake, but it was never as easy as simply acknowledging that. Never. The world was soft, but Kingdomcome was not, and his boys would not be either. "What did you do wrong?"

Hey, Scene, are you cool with the idea of Dom sending Hev to infiltrate BloodClan to find out about the kidnapped RiverClanners?

[center][fancypost=bgcolor= transparent; bordercolor= transparent; height:; width: 420px; font=; text-align: justify;]Dom wasn't interested in whatever petty war was going on between RiverClan and BloodClan. The caracal had settled his family here: that much was true, but that did not mean he owed them anything. That did not mean that he hated the BloodClanners with the passion his new clanmates seemed to.

That said, he was not beyond playing the devil. As he wandered toward the group, the male inhaled slightly, labeling the scent Montague wore as 'BloodClan.' Glancing toward Ramses, Kingdomcome mused, "What's the saying—an eye for an eye? A captive for a captive." Admittedly, from the short time he'd spent here, Dom had formed the opinion that his fellow RiverClanners were soft: would they really be willing to take a prisoner? He would, if only to exchange for one of the kidnapped RiverClanners.

[center][fancypost=bgcolor= transparent; bordercolor= transparent; height:; width: 420px; font=; text-align: justify;]What defined a family? Blood? Loyalty? Simply living together? Dom had raised his children since they were babies. He'd taken them when they were so young that they barely had any memories of family—and he'd done his best to wipe what memories they did have so that they were his alone. He'd taken them, raised them, trained them, and yes, cared for them, although his care might not have always seemed so loving. By all accounts, he was their father and they were his children. By all accounts, except for blood, they were family.

Speaking of family—zoning in on two of his boys, Dom watched them interact with Esca for a minute. They were settling in here, and the only remaining question was, was bringing them here a bad idea? Only time would tell. Maw curling slightly upward, the russet wildcat approached the group. He spared a brief glance toward Heavenlypaw and Flowerypaw: they could interpret that as they would. "I see you've met my boys," he began, focusing friendly eyes on Esca. "I'm Kingdomcome." They were all playing at sweetness, it seemed, but he would only do that to a point. "Were you anywhere before here?"
